Caught Between Two Worlds
by Christopher Cullen

Caught Between Two Worlds is a new book written by expert all-round fisher Chris Cullen. Chris is an angler who is interested in many aspects of angling; consequently he finds he is often caught between two worlds. Whether to fish for coarse or game, or perhaps to choose between fishing at night or day and ultimately, the attraction of fishing the two hemispheres, choosing between the United Kingdom and New Zealand.

In this unique book the reader will find an eclectic collection of fishing stories with excursions into angling literature and history, taken from a lifetime’s pursuit of fishing. No matter what decision he makes it will take him to the waterside and beautiful places and he knows a day’s angling is enhanced by the interest and pleasure of his surroundings, whatever part of the world he is in.

Inside Caught Between Two Worlds there are chapters on famous waters like Redmire, Beechmere and Woldale, tales of big carp, pike, tench, barbel and chub. Chapters on BB's infamous centre pin reel that Richard Walker made, The Peter Stone Ledgerstrike rod, The Richard Walker carp net and other tales on tackle and books. Tales about fishing trips in search of trout in New Zealand, sea trout from the West Country Moors and intriguing flies and patterns.

Chris Cullen was born in Cheshire where he grew up fishing for carp and tench in the picturesque meres and estate lakes of that county. An ambition to explore new horizons took him to New Zealand, whereupon he developed a passion for trout fishing and was heavily influenced by several well-known innovated Taupo trout anglers. On returning to the UK he developed as an ‘all-rounder’.

Over the last 20 years has contributed to The Field, Waterlog, Fly Fishing and Fly Tying, Coarse Fisherman, Specialist Angling World and Coarse Angling. He is a long standing member of the infamous Mat Hat Whistler’s Club and has recently retired from a life spent working mostly in the aerospace industry as a design engineer. He lives in a village close to the Somerset Levels.

The book is illustrated throughout with Chris' own scraper board drawings, which gives the book the feel of belonging to a different age.

Caught Between Two Worlds is a limited edition of which there are 300 cloth bound copies signed by the author
