Watch Olympics decathlete, Dean Macey, attempt to catch a selection of Britain's finest freshwater fish and beat a few of his personal bests along the way.

Roach
Andy Little, top all-rounder, joins Dean at the picturesque Sway Lakes in Hampshire as he attempts to catch a 3lb roach. Settling down in a perfect location surrounded by lilly-pads, Dean baits his swim with maggots, casts out his line with a double-caster hook bait and, three casts later, lands a cracker.

Catfish
For Dean’s grand finale he joins ace predator fisherman, Nige Williams, to attempt to snare the rarest and most mysterious fish of them all, the catfish, Lakemore Fisheries in Cheshire is the venue and, armed with his 12 foot, 3 pounders with 15 pound main-line reels, they attempt to catch 35lb+ catfish. Dean takes the number one swim on the lake then prepares for an all day and all night catfish challenge.

Running time approx 46 mins.

Watch Olympics decathlete, Dean Macey, attempt to catch a selection of Britain's finest freshwater fish and beat a few of his personal bests along the way.

Pike
Dean Macey joins Nige Williams on the banks on the Upton-Upon-Severn in Worcestershire in the hunt for legendary pike. They head out on the Severn in Nige’s boat with Dean using a dead-bait float rig with 25lb braid with a small roach on one line and a rudd on the other. But, with pike in the swim, it is the lure that hooks Dean his fish with a cry of "thank you fishing Gods!"

Crucian Carp
It's off to the Marsh Farm fishery in Surrey where Bill Rushmore hopes to help Dean beat his personal best crucian carp – 3lbs 4oz. Bill has more joy initially before bubbles and dipping floats finally yield to a catch for Dean on his 7 metre pole. Throw in a superb tench to the mix and Dean heads home a happy boy.

Running time approx 46 mins.
