Brown Trout, Grayling & Barbel

The Challenge
Matt Hayes and Mick Brown are back for a fresh new challenge. They have to dash 700 miles from the west coast of Ireland to the most easterly point in England passing through the best angling sites in the British Isles. But there’s a catch… thay have only 30 days to reach their destination and one pound of fish equals one mile, so the heavier the fish, the further they can go!

Days 19-20: Our fisherman travel 11 miles to Corwin where they catch numerous grayling and brown trout on the fly. Over the Welsh border and onto Shropshire’s Hampton Loade, Matt demonstrates his secret 'Time Bomb' method.

Days 21-22: Matt and Mick spend a day at Pool Hall Alveley, a Fisheries Lake with a wide variety of specimens. Mick tries fishing on the pole for the first time and Matt is catching fish on the drop.

Days 23-24: Our lads travel 41 miles to Salford Priors on the Warwickshire Avon where a monster barbell awaits. Its then onto Ecton Lake in Northamptonshire where they know there are big carp lurking. Despite Mick's traditional bread on a hook method and Matt's Zig Rig, they end the day unsuccessfully.

Running time approx 68 mins.
